ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Roland Street and Cottage Grove Avenue Improvements
The City of McBain is requesting Bids for the improvements of Roland Street and Cottage Grove Avenue. Bids for the construction of the project will be received at City of McBain located at 9478 S. Morey Road, McBain, MI, until 2:00 p.m. local time, March 29, 2024. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The project includes crush and shape of existing pavement on Cottage Grove Avenue from the M-66 intersection to the Euclid Street Intersection. Installation of new asphalt surface on this section of Cottage Grove Avenue.
Also included is milling of existing asphalt surface on Roland Street, replacement of two catch basins, replacement of two catch basin castings, installation of new asphalt surface, and installation of traffic markings (stop bar, center line, parking lines, crosswalk, etc.)
Prospective Bidders may request the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. The Issuing Office of the Bidding Documents is: Fleis and VandenBrink Engineering, Inc. 603 Bay Street, First Floor, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684 Email: bidroom@fveng.com Telephone (231) 932-8600. Bidding Documents will be emailed in portable document format (PDF) at no charge; hard copy documents are not available. Non-biddable documents may be viewed in the on-line Bid Room at www.fveng.com.
The date the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents.
A pre-bid conference will not be held.
For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.
The City of McBain reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the City of McBain.

McBain is a city in Missaukee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. McBain is a small Dutch community. The population was 656 at the 2010 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.25 square miles (3.24 km2), all land. We offer our citizens and visitors a safe and clean community. We are proud of McBain!!
A Bit of history about McBain.....McBain began as a settlement around a sawmill in Riverside Township, founded by Gillis McBain and his brother John McBain in 1887. A station on the Toledo, Ann Arbor and North Michigan Railway named "Owens" opened on August 27, 1888 and a post office with the same name opened on September 10, 1888. Both were renamed McBain on September 17, 1889. McBain incorporated as a village in 1893 and as a city in 1907.
